When you use our Services, our systems may collect data like:

  • IP address, device type, browser/app version, and settings,
  • pages/screens viewed, time/date of access, and actions taken, and

We collect personal information only where it is needed for a lawful purpose connected to operating ShearIQ (and we aim to collect only what’s necessary). (Privacy Commissioner)
We also take reasonable steps to let you know what we’re collecting and why. (Privacy Commissioner)

4) How we use personal information

We may use personal information to:

5) Who we share information with

We may share personal information with:

  • service providers who help us run the Services (e.g., hosting, storage, payment processing, analytics, support tools),
  • contractors or staff who need access to provide support or maintain the Services, and
  • regulators/law enforcement/courts where required or permitted by law.

We do not sell personal information.

6) International storage and transfers

We may store or process personal information using providers that operate outside New Zealand (for example, cloud hosting). If we disclose personal information overseas, we take steps to ensure the disclosure is consistent with New Zealand privacy requirements (including safeguards for offshore disclosures). (New Zealand Digital government)

7) Security and data breaches

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. (New Zealand Digital government)
No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If there is a privacy breach that has caused (or is likely to cause) serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner as required, as soon as practicable. (Privacy Commissioner)

8) How long we keep personal information

We keep personal information only for as long as we reasonably need it to:

  • provide the Services,
  • meet legal, accounting, or tax requirements,
